What is Public Health?

Public Health is a diverse area
of health, which concentrates on the prevention of ill health and disease,
through collective and organised effort of society.  This includes strategies for safer water
supply, good sanitation, immunisation programmes, health promotion, infectious
disease prevention and control, food and drug safety, emergency planning and
numerous other activities.
